geocities does support frontpage you moron

you just need to upload the .htm files to file manager on geocities and make sure that all components of the page (pictures etc.) are also uploaded into the file manager

Why should anything need to support Frontpage anyway? Frontpage just produces the HTML files, all you need to do is upload them. You should be able to do that with any FTP client.

people sometimes confuse it to mean £5 a month for 6months so what is said in brackets clarified it 8)

Front page has a stupid thing called Front Page Extensions which must be supported by the server for some FP Pages to display correctly. TBH it's another pile of shit from microsoft but because some people insist on using dodgey microsoft products and no others, a lot of hosts now support the stupid things.

Frontpage is evil, it 's fcuking awful, and as for the HTML it spews out.... Don't use Frontpage, if you have to use anything I recommend DreamWeaver UltraDev.

An example of a shit web site designed with Front Page is the village I live in.

Why use the WYSIWYG editors, you might as well learn HTML, especially if you've mastered the BBCode in here, its just as easy and actually not that different.

I can hand code HTML, but I don't have time to knock out huge sites using notepad so I use DreamWeaver to come up with a basic template, and then depending on what sort of thing I'm doing I'll either drop the text and images straight in, or write some scripting to drag the stuff out of a database. There's no point using notepad to do everything, it's making more work for yourself - as long as you know how to quickly check through the HTML for any dodgy code there's no problem using WYSIWYG editors IMHO.

I'd rather be able to say that I done it myself to be honest, but thats just me

Creating a site in Dreamweaver doesn't mean you haven't done it yourself, creating a GOOD site is still a skill, especially if you do everything (graphics, design, scripting etc) yourself. At the end of the day, it's a personal choice but I don't have time to sit and code everything by hand.

I may end up being the same, after all, programmers are lazy sods (I'll fit right in)

For now I don't know a lot apart from beginners Perl, so not exactly of TICOC standards yet :)
