tbh what he does to his face is his business. i actually came away from the program with a greater respect for him. so he lives in a different world to the rest of us, who cares? not me! i think bashir was pretty evil in the documentary, but that is how ITV is at the moment, if you watch the ITV news you will see exactly what i mean, its all sensationalism, like you get in worthless rags like the sun. he followed him around for 8 months and then crammed the few most excentric moments into a relatively short show. as regards to the kids thing, as long as what he said is true, in that the parents have full consent, and im pretty damn sure bashir would of checked this out even though he didnt mention it, then i dont think it is anyone elses business. and clearly i dont think it was some sort of career move, like he would need it. i think it was an attempt to show how relatively normal he is, someone said it was mr spoon bender who convinced him to do it. obviously it backfired though :/

just my rantings, hope they were interesting

I totally think he's wako, and i think he's so stoopid for messin with his face, and he was talking about getting his vocal cords changed, so he has a lower voice, which means that if he releases any songs after this op he was gonna have, then it wouldnt be his own voice, therefore not his own songs!

someone on the telly this morning made a point about the skin disease he (has) makes the skin very blotchy and not a pure white like he is. well if i had that (and i was black obviously) i think that would be pretty damn distressing, and if youve got the money to do it i think it might be appealing to actually use whatever methods available to make all the skin the same colour, even if it is white. and once your white, looking like a black person with white skin would be pretty damn distressing too, so i can see why he would have surgery, you might as well go all the way. clearly he went a bit too far, but when ur looking in the mirror its very easy to see things different about yourself that arent actually that bad, ie anarexics (sp?) see themselves as fat when they arent that fat, which leads to self abuse. however i do think the doctors who actually agreed to do this have a case to answer as to why they helped him mutilate himself like that.

I don't get why he still denies having plastic surgery. As Martin said on the programme, he's been through so much in his childhood so it's understandable that he sould want to improve his appearance. But why deny it? Especially when it's so obvious.

On the subject of the children though, I think he's just a very naive person who doesn't realise that people are going to get the wrong idea when he says he 'shares his bed' with children. He said in the documentary that he doesn't read the paper and doesn't watch the news so he might not understand the world's take on paedophiles these days. It's also clear that his mentality is of a child, the way he lives in 'neverland' and described himself as 'Peter Pan' makes it clear that he feels like a child and doesn't want to grow up. I think ITV went out of their way to try and stir up some controversy by making out that Micheal 'slept' with children when it was most probably Micheal giving them his bed for the night just like he said. It seems obvious to me that someone is going to make an allegation that Micheal sexually abused them just to take advantage of Micheal's naivety and wealth.

I think Micheal made some very good points though. He said that these days children don't get the love they need and deserve which is very true. I think the world would be a much better place if parents spent a lot more time with their children.

On a final note (sorry for going on) I thought it was hilarious when Micheal went into that shop and was saying "I'll have this", "I'll take that", "Is that a picture of Apollo" -"Yeah whatever you say Micheal"- "I'll have that too". He's obviously got more money than he knows what to do with.

I was so scared of the show, I turned over and watched something on Channel 4.

Why does the name Rob Francis ring a bell? You don't happen to work in local radio do you?

does nobody else think that the 13 year old boy was somewhat a bit of a freak holding hands and snuggling up to a 44 year old man.

It was disturbing.

In some accounts the interviewer was going too far, and you could clearly see that he had upset him in the process. For Michael his obsession of children came from a troubled childhood, I think he has good intentions, but the way in which the interviewer tried to make out it was sexual and he was in a way a pervert was rather pressurised and cruel. He loves children but has a naive way about him, so he doesn't understand why people find that so strange nor do we realise why he is so strange.

But read the papers or not, everyone knows paedophiles are the most vile individuals around. He may have the mentality of a child, but I think kids are a lot cleverer than people give them credit for anyway. Its very easy to play on that perception.

True, but if he doesn't read the papers he wouldn't realise why people would get the wrong idea about inviting children to use his bed.
