No point in worrying, becuase there's * all any of can do about it, therefore I just put it out of my mind & concentrate on things I can control!

you have got to start worrying about all this. The day after a split appears in the coalition for war suddenly we go on terror alert. Then we have troops at Heathrow but no other airport?! Forgive me if im being cynical here but if someone wanted to take down a plane with a shoulder launched missile then no amount of tanks are going to stop them.
I think the whole thing stinks at the end of the day terrorism is about the emotional casualties and the media seems obsessed with telling us about how they are planning attacks and in which horrific ways they might do it.

I am a bit worried, cos i'm traveling from Heathrow in early march. I doubt i'll be injured, but there is a fair chance i'll face a big fat delay. :(

My girlfriend made a valid point, with all these troops at heathrow, won't they just drive the 40 minutes to Gatwick?

Heathrow is the main target in question. Thats a good point, your girlfriend has made. Security is also very tight down there, they just havent rolled the tanks out down there.

people people open your eyes. Cnt you see this is just another ploy to get us all to say "actually tione you were right we should go and bomb these Iraqi people into submission." You are more likely to droen in your own bath water than be a victim of a terrorist attack.
Think ill be safe up here in the toon though unless the Tyne Bridge is a military target or the Boat nightclub is mistaken for a war ship

Tell that to the people who died in the twin towers, the pentagon, the plane that went down, Bali....

Magenta's right, there's no point worrying about it - if something is going to happen it'll happen and there's very little anyone can do it about it.

To be honest, I'm not thinking about it at all. I don't know whether sub-conciously I'm shutting it all out or whether its just my tiny mind that can't conprehend the actual idea of going to war. I know its most likely to happen, and the words 'nuclear' and 'terrorists' never fail to make my shudder but I can't get my head round it and I can't imagine it at all. Which in a way is even more worrying, I'm not prepared.

to me, guns and grenades are devastating. but when terms like 'weapons of mass destruction' to describe weapons which Iraq apparently hold, it does put the fear of god into me

weapons of mass destruction is merely a vague buzzword that they use when they just can't say "bad things."

i think it's silly to be afraid of terrorist attacks. that's the whole point of them- they want you scared, and they want you affected. in america, we've been on "orange alert" or "high alert" for terrorist attacks for about a week now. i think it's a bit silly. has my life changed since then? other than the sinus infection i'm fighting? no.

go schroeder, you might be the one.

Th only thing with war is that (and this may be stating the obvious a bit) the only people who are affected are the ones who haven't got a choice.

I can't say I'm too worried about the terrorist threats and there may possibly be some truth in what ninemaster said about it all being a publicity stunt.
