I disagree. I'm not massivley overweight but I could do with losing a few pounds IMO, but to say, "oh I'll just eat healthly" isn't that easy. You can't just make yourself do something. Timb, some (and I'm not one of them) might say that you choose to be gay, and if you wanted to you could just be straight, and therefore they have the right to take the mick out of you. But could you? I doubt it, and its the same thing.

Some people have good motavational skills, some don't. Whether its hedarity or enviormental its not the persons fault. Never underestimate peer pressure as well, it can lead to some terrible things. Think about the bloke who overdosed a couple of weeks back on the net.

To finish off, I'm not a smoker, I thinks its a terrible habit, but I do have sympathy for them and their earlier than needed deaths.

Smoking is horrible, what a really really really really really bad, antisocial habbit (And it is antisocial if you're around non-smokers!). I hate it when people smoke around me for one main reason, not my health but the fact that your clothes just end up stinking of smoke...it's horrible!

to make a point now...

i dont drink, and quite honestly i'd rather smoke that drinkheavily. whats more/less impressive, someone smoking or someone drunk? members of the opposite sex can put up with someone smoking, but someone trolleyed is just an utter disgrace.

you may not be able to control your thoughts or feelings but people are responsible for their actions, every time you put the proverbial pie or f.a.g (as in cig) in your mouth that is an action. if people aren't responsible for their actions our entire society would collapse, you wouldn't be able to blame people for crimes they commit. to tell fat people that it isn't their fault they are fat is to give them an excuse to not lose weight and to blame 'society'. it may well be hard to lose weight, but it was still their fault alone for getting to be that weight.

You complete uneducated t¡t, just because you smoke it doesn't mean you arn't intelligent! It just means you've made a stupid mistake in the past and that you've become addicted. Everyone makes stupid mistakes you know, I'm sure you've made quite a few.

Why? Are you telling me that all the people you know who smoke are unintelligent?
By timb

indeed, by definition

You either don't know any smokers or you live in Liverpool.

Why are you unintelligent just because you smoke? That's a very shallow view.

the same reason you are stupid if you hit yourself in the face with a shovel

But say your friends all smoked so you tried it with them and you've smoked ever since? That wouldn't be your fault if your friends dragged you into it.

even if everyone in the world smoked, you still have the choice whether to or not. didn't u hear the song? just say no

Yeah, but just because you smoke it doesn't mean you're stupid. If that's what you believe then you're the stupid one.

of course not  a slow and painful death is something most people look forward to

Yeah but what I'm saying is, thicko, some people make a big mistake and start smoking. Then they're hooked and want to give up but they can't. It's not something they particularly want to do, but they're addicted to the nicotine which is telling their bodies that they enjoy smoking so they carry on doing it. It doesn't mean they're not clever, but it means they're adicted and can't give up. I fail to see the connection that you seem to be suggesting, that just because someone smokes, they're automatically thick.
By timb

1. you have to be thick to make that mistake in the first place

2. even if someone was pinned down and forced to start smoking, if they weren't stupid they would quit within a reasonable time period. to say you're addicted and can't stop is a cop-out. no addiction is so great that you can't break it.

Right, I can't be arsed to quote all of that, but basically, Eddie it doesn't bother me if people smoke around me, basically to go to a pub / club and not expect there to be smokers is bloody stupid.

I agree with Sidla all the way on this one too, in fact I think most of the smokers I know (and I know a few of them) are perfectly intelligent people.

i've been quiet for long enough and now i do not think i am enjoying being called stupid/thick/unintelligent or whatever.

i do not see myself as being unintelligent, smoking is a habit and yes i may have been stupid to start in the first place and when i was a kid of 13 i think i was stupid. but i am a different person now and the fact that i have had to grow up and learn with this addiction does not make me stupid, it makes me addicted. the real truth can not be known by someone who has never smoked, no matter how much you think you know you don't know the half of it

This is true for a lot of things, I have to say that I agree with you on this one. I'm sure you would give up given the chance (probably, judging by what you posted.) Everyone's different, luckily when I tried I didn't even get addicted, if I did I have no doubt I would be puffing away like a f.ag ash lil right now.

BTW, alcohol advertising banned? Really? Bloody stupid that is.
