I kind of think that's the point. The only reason you know someone smokes is by either them telling you or you seeing them smoke. So if you speak to someone for hours in an intelligent conversation and then they get a B&H out of their pocket they're thick? I think not...

you can appear to be intelligent in some things and then turn out to be a completely thick asshole. sometimes you meet someone and they seem ok, and then after a few hours you just wanna * kill them. you could invent time travel and be a smoker, and that would make you thick. if the intelligence of being a smoker was b and a persons other intelligence attributes was a and their overall intelligence was c then c = b.

OK, but it works the other way. You could meet someone who is having a f.ag and think that they're thick, but then you could get talking to them and realise that actually, they're not actually thick after all.

All I am saying is that there is not one thing that makes you intellignet or thick. If you are brilliant at pub quizzes it makes you good at general knowledge, but that does not make you intelligent. In the same way if you smoke (as so many other people have said) you made a stupid decision, that does not make you thick.

Oh, and yes, I do smoke, as do many of my friends, and not one of us could be considered 'thick' - myself and a number of my mates have IQ's in the high 140's / low 150's, are capable of making reasoned arguments, and more importantly, taking on board other peoples comments during such arguments and maybe actually realising that they are right, or at least have a point.
