Yeah, because you have one of those.....

Oh, and yes, I do smoke, as do many of my friends, and not one of us could be considered 'thick' - myself and a number of my mates have IQ's in the high 140's / low 150's, are capable of making reasoned arguments, and more importantly, taking on board other peoples comments during such arguments and maybe actually realising that they are right, or at least have a point. You sir are an uneducated, biggoted and uninformed cretin, who doesn't know the first thing about life. Go crawl back under your rock.

do i care if you don't think you're thick? no

i still think you are and every time you put a f'ag in you're mouth you prove me right

i also do not care about all those rather pathetic insults you just levied at me

and why on earth do you think i would want to change my mind? no-one has made a single, worthwhile point as to why people who smoke aren't thick. for that to happen you would have to prove that smoking isn't a completely and utterly stupid thing to do.

Once again timb proves how utterly imbecilic he is, and how closed his tiny little mind is to anything that even slightly differs from his own, stuck-up-his-own-arse opinion.

Ok, so smoking may not rank that highly on the "ooh, what a good idea" list but to levy the argument that all people who smoke are thick is just so inane it's untrue.

I think you'll find that if you look through the previous posts you will find that people have made some very worthwhile points against your original argument, but you're just so incomprehensibly blinkered to the fact that people might not agree with you that you can't see them.

Finally, I'd like to say that as a homosexual man I'm sure you're used to peoples uninformed, biggoted ideas about homosexuality, and I'm sure you resent this. Your generalisations are equally as uninformed and pathetic.

Argue your way out of that one.

I'd like to know you're response to this Timb please. Smoking is a stupid thing to do, there is no question about it, but it doesn't make you a stupid person in general. As someone mentioned before, you can't define stupidity by one thing.

I'll be honest, it does instantly lower my opinion of someone if I discover they smoke. I found out a few months ago that my cousin (my childhood, and in some ways teenage, rolemodel) smokes when she goes out on occasions and I was actually very upset. In my sad little world I was also upset when I found out Moyles smoked years ago, Richard Bacon and Ana Boulter also do I've discovered recently. These are people I admire and them being smokers is in complete contrast to that. However this isn't an aspect of my personality I like. I would want to think I accept people for how they are and I find it worrying that I can be so stereotypical. I've been trying very hard for a while now to stop feeling like this because I know its the wrong attitude to have.

No-one has yet to come up with a response to my point that people who hit themselves in the face with shovel are stupid. what is so special about smoking that makes it different from this? just because there are so many smokers does not mean they cannot all be stupid, just look at the amount of people who voted labour at the last election. most people in this world are extremely stupid

There has not been one single valid point. 'It's addictive' is not valid because you have to start and can still quit. 'some people are intelligent' is not valid because itelligent people who do completely thick things are thick as i said before. and actually i do see that people don't agree with me :duh: but guess what . i dont give a rats ass

not really

no it's my opinion and it is extremely well informed due to the fact that smoking is stupid, there is no other information you need.

You still didn't give me a response.

I'll answer you shovel thing. Thousands of people in this world self harm and cause themselves injury on purpose, whether its by hitting themselves with a shovel (which no-one bloody does anyway!) or make cuts all up there arms. They are not stupid, they are looking for a form of release, attention or just some twisted form of respect, because they are uinhappy and lonely. A completly different angle from smoking but a fair answer to your point me thinks. I've got a few more but I'm sure by the time I've posted this someone else will have already said it.

Right, if you accept that argument, try smoking 10 cigarettes a day for a week, and if after that week you never feel the urge to smoke again then your argument is valid.

Having said that, I highly recommend that you DO NOT do that or you could regret it for the rest of your life, but it might enlighten your tiny mind.

I never said 'it's addictive' was a valid point, although it's certainly the reason a lot of people still smoke. Tell me, have you ever been addicted to anything and tried to give it up? When you have, then come back and you can use that as an argument.

My argument is that you can't label all people who smoke as stupid, if you beleive you can then you are a complete cretin. As for your argument (and I quote)

"'some people are intelligent' is not valid because itelligent people who do completely thick things are thick as i said before"

is possibly the worst argument I have ever read - you've managed to contradict yourself something rotten there, and I love the way you've structured that sentence. It's nice to know you put a lot of thought into your most eloquent of responses. Nice going chump.

you see i wont do that because i'm not that stupid . i don't deny that it may be addictive and that it may be very hard, but it is always possible to resist an urge or any nature, except the urge to vomit sometimes.

Nice one Sam - I'm in a lot of agreeance with that.

What is the deal though...you smoke, you don't smoke. Its a decision. Just because you smoke doesn't mean you are stupid/dumb or anything, its a personal choice. I don't smoke, I won't smoke but that doesn't mean I am going to offend those who do, its a personal choice.

it is my mind, when i think that someone is stupid i don't need some 'right' to do it, i just do. what gives you the right to not think smokers are stupid? noone BECAUSE YOU DON'T NEED IT.

How many people do you know who go around hitting themselves with a shovel?
And how many people do you know who smoke?
I would imagine there's a significant difference to the answeres of them 2 questions, and here is how I sum it up.

People hit themselves with a shovel once, it hurts, they learn from it, they don't do it again.

People smoke a cigarette. It's quite a pleasureable experiance, so they smoke a few more. After they've smoked a whole packet they realise it's bad for their health so they try to stop, but they find they crave it too much to be able to stop.

it actually makes complete perfect sense, maybe it's just you who can't understand it. if newton hit himself in the face with a shovel it would make him thick. see. understand? its a simple concept. people can do things that are so utterly stupid it makes them stupid. see? you need little pictures ?

Its a choice, just like what clothes you wear, you don't need them, but yes. (Poor poor example!, but others may think your a tad stupid if you go out the house naked)

My right not to think smokers are stupid is actually the right of a large group of people to not have me discriminate against them. Same as the rights of people of a different colour skin, religion, culture or sexual preference. Its all the same.
