The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

So, guess who went anti-war marching? Actually, it was more of a shuffle than a march, as there were so many people no-one could move! Have you ever seen one million people in one place, all sharing one viewpoint and fighting for one cause? It was incredible, one of the most amazing experiences of my life, even though I had a hangover! The atmosphere was great, everybody smiling and chatting as we went along, all in good spirits. Prize for best banner had to go to one which on one side had a picture of a woman’s, ahem, private parts, with the words ‘nice bush’ written underneath, and on the other a picture of George W. with the words ‘nasty bush’. They’re a lot along those lines, including a few saying “The only bush I trust is my own” and “bush is another word for c**t”. More interesting sites along the way were Daily Star page 3 girls being photographed getting their tits out to ‘support the people” and rows (and I mean rows!) of blokes having a pee up the bushes of Hyde Park.

Anyway, the point of this is I have a thankyou to make to Gaspode. A few months ago I commented on the point that there was nothing I could do about the war as I’m not old enough to vote. Gaspode made the point that years ago students used there time to protest and that no-one bothered to do this anymore, and it got me thinking and downright ashamed of myself. So Gaspode, this student did. I’d like to think I made a minor contribution to the anti-war effort, and I’ve done my bit for a cause I believe in. A sincere thankyou Sir Wonder Dog, for being part of the reason I decided to stand up for myself and my beliefs.

Yup, changed, so lets kill all its people! And us in the process, hurray! It DOES make a massive statement, its one of the biggest marches in history, and I refuse to believe that everyone else in the country is pro-war. We should have a public vote, and if the majority think its a good thing fair enough, we have been beaten. But I wish people would make informed decisions. 90% casulties of gulf war were civilians.

thing is..its ok saying we should carry on searching for his "Weapons of mass destruction" but Sadam will have them stored very deep in the ground...and he will use them and we wont be able to do a thing when he does.....

i agree that Bush is a tosser and he is a joke and he has scared me by how much damaging he is doing but something must be done to stop Iraq..unfortuantly there will be casualitys

I'm sorry but I agree with Loz (Twice in one night wow!) but I think we should go to war and lets get this over with. Lets deal with him and show the world what happens with these people.

Yes, and let thousands of Iraq children grow up seeing the destruction and death the west have brought to they're homes, their family and friends. So in a few years time September the 11th can happen all over again. You can't have 'a war against terroism', because fighting terror with terror doesn't work. Yes, short term we might have got rid of a dictator, but long term its not to solve anything. And next time it could be your children and grandchildren. Look at the propaganda you are being fed people, we think we live in such a free country. They haven't found any weapons 'yet', who says they ever will? And another thing, if these weapons do exist and we go to war, he's definatly going to use them on us, isn't he?

If he uses the weapons on us then good that would be the prove me need all along and it's not as if really he stands much of a chance against the US and Britian.
If we don't remove Sadium things arn't goign to change we will be going round in a circle. In what ever we do there will be war I would like to embrace world peace but we need a true cause for the world to work towards and at the moment we don't have one.
If it's not Iraq then it will be Korea we have to worry about.

Yep, war is inevitable and it would be better for it to be quick to lessen the casualties

fair enough sam...have a vote..but if terrorists or Iraq hit London or Manchester or Wolverhampton tommorow (god forbid) then would you want action to be taken?..if Iraq invades Kuwait....which is a high possibility or launch an attack against Israel would you still want a vote?

lets face it Sadam wont be waiting for us to make a move..he can get his associates or Al-queda (he will have links with them) to do a huge amount of damage to city......

i really DONT want war.....as casualites will be imense however this guy is a threat..he kills is OWN people because of their beliefs...have the country is in poverty because of this..he brainwashes his popualtion into hating civilised countries because there allowed a free vote

99.9% of the Iraq population voted for the only candidate in the last Iraq Election...the only candidate..you gussed it..a Mr Sadam Hussain...there is a very large section of the Iraq population who hate Sadam and want him out..however they cant say anything..if USA UK and other nations can get in..the standard of life will improve in Iraq..and the links to other terror groups will be cut

however we have to llok at other secenarios....supporters of Hussain will try and attack us..simple as ....theres nothing positive that they will or wont but....we have to consider it

people will die however..there is a good point which COULD come from it...however many bad aspects will happen

seriously though, im thinking that how would all the anti-war people feel if suddenly saddam decided he'd had enough and bombed the * out of all of us killing everyone.

would you not be pissed off that no action had been taken because of your demos and the direct result of that was that your family dies?!?!?

Of course I would want action to be taken, but you don't know that this will happen! You could say you can't wait on a maybe, but can you justify killing so many people on a maybe?

lets face it Sadam wont be waiting for us to make a move..he can get his associates or Al-queda (he will have links with them) to do a huge amount of damage to city......

Why will he? Because they are all Muslims together? You don't know this!

I agree something needs to be done, I'm saying there are better ways than war. You are beliving all you are reading Loz and its not all true. We have no proof of anything, we are just being fed propaganda. And the scary thing is so are the people of Iraq.

Nablo - the point isn't who will win, its about how many will die.

Bridgie - yeah, I'd feel terrible. Buit how would all the pro war people feel if we killed thousands, hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi's to find that Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction after all, and another dictator came forward in his place. There are plenty of them. And as I pointed out, if we go to war, they are going to bomb us anyway, people are garented to die if these weapons exist.

let common sense prevail, no war. america was unhappy cos all them people died so its gonna make life miserable for completely innocent ppl and not going after the man they cant get, Osama Bin Laden. Its funny how they shifted it to someone who they know the whereabouts of isnt it.

The last thing I want is for this to be seen as a religeous war. Christianity V Islam. There is no way of avoiding that, because Saddam and all other Muslims are going to say that this war is against Muslims which is simply not the truth. I agree that Saddam is an aggressive individual and should be removed but I don't think the Muslims are ever going to see it that way.

just one point but in the iraqi elections there wasn't only one candidate ie they didn't have any choice, the actual ballot was whether to re-elect him or not, ie they could of voted no we dont want him for another 5 or wotever years. obviously though the vote was rigged so this is a bit of a mute point but i'd just like it known :)

We all have to die someday so be it at the hands of a war or simply a heartattack.
Peace talks have yet to do anything so action is needed to prove to these people that we don't stand for it. Sorry but to coin the old phrase actions speak louder than words. So lets deal with them with actions instead of sitting around a table debating about what is and isn't going to happen.

Right, this is basically a Sam quoting post....

Sam wrote:It was incredible, one of the most amazing experiences of my life

My mate went too, he said the same (but he's very political.) I probably would have gone if I had the money to get there.
Sam wrote:But I wish people would make informed decisions.

The problem is that most people don't get an informed view, well not properly anyway, Joe Dickhead does not know the half of it.

Just one last point (to try and make a bit of light-heartedness out of this...)
Sam wrote:4. When was the last time you were drunk?

Hmm, a step into the world of alcohol? You know it makes sense! :P

lol, Topher, I don't get drunk very often. I was all excited to be out and about in London and I wanted to make the most of it! Tbh I wasn't that far gone anyway, just a bit tipsy, and I'm not so good at handling my drink so I get hangovers easily.

Cheers Gaspode! :)
