There were a few trails on five about it so thats how I knew, and they were bizarre ones aswell, him stood in a chip shop. I didn't see any others though, five not wanting to set themselves up for a fall me thinks....

Watched the first half today. Hey heres an idea folks - lets take the exat same formula as last time, change the colour (blue to red), the theme tune and the presenter, and then use the exact same format and expect it to be so much better! Oh , and add in a fit blonde to get all the lads going. That'll work!

If thats harsh I apoligise as I'm in a bad mood but IMO it was no different, except without the Moyles factor I won't be watching. Well actually I'll watch the rest of the week as I made such a big deal about Chris needing to find his feet on the show and I don't want to be hypocritical, so I'll try to be open minded. I wasn't impressed today though.

I doubt he'll mention it. I think Bob is right, the reception it recieved has really dented his confidence, I should imagine he's quietly very upset about it all, even if he wouldn't admit it.

remember when chris was saying on his show about once he was really upset and he was telling dave about it in the pub and he started to cry (when he was telling the story, not on air) and the punchline was that dave replied with ''only smarties have the answer, fancy another pint...''

do you reckon the demise of his show was the reason for his sadness?

sam's right, change the set, edit the titles and put christian o connell (who aint funny - right?!) on...

well done five(!)

they've just dumped all the silly, comical bits (like push the pint and the race in newcastle with the fire brigade soaking people)

No, I don't remember hearing that. Regardless of what it was about, its nice to know Dave is such a supportive mate in these touching moments of male bonding, and when Chris really needs a friend. I can't help smile when I hear stories like this about Dave's apparent disregard for how other people feel! :)

Lol! Ur not alone! I think Dave must b one of those people who will sit there and pretent to loisten while really in his head the start of clokcs in slowly going round! lol!

to be fair, moyles is (at best) uncomfortable on TV. whatever you say, its a harsh reality.

That scripted show, with weak material didnt do moyles any justice at all. Its like sitting a 747 captain in a cessna 152

Unfotunatly the show is going that way too latley :(

i like christian o connell and its a shame that they've thrown him in there with the same format. Moyles is a far bigger name than o'connell and i can't see how maintaining the shit formula is going to help the xfm dj be successfull.

I quite liked moyles on tv, and i'm sure if someone gave him a fair run and let him settle in as an on screen presenter he would do well as he's got the ability to communicate with the 'yuff' of today on all levels of the intelligence scale.

Personally, i don't think much of evans ability as a creator of tv programming. I liked TFI, but everything else he has done i found shit. Live with.... is just rubbish. Presenting it in a shoe box doesn't add for a cosy atmosphere but places empthasis on background noise. The features varied in greatness and not having many decent crew sidekicks, callers and guests to bounce off on crippled moyles.

Perhaps the best thing to do now is to work hard on the radio show. Take it to the next level. Come up with some novel pr stunts. Prank phone call jon ross' show. Build up more rivalries.

If he takes his radio show to the next level, his personality will become further apprarent and he'll land a decent innovative show with a decent innovative production company.

go get em tiger..

So its exactly the same then. Guardian never mentioned ratings, it was too pre occupied with Corrie but I wouldnt suspect many ratings.
Ri:se will be gone so itll come around again that Chris will be "poaching" Moyles for breakfast tv surely.

Shows are up, and Friday platinum: https://archi[…]
