I never have a go at northerners, they are the nicest people you can ever meet... I support a northern team you knw (almost as bad as the "I have lots of gay friends" excuse)

This is true, but you still have to go into a pub sober, unless you have been drinking beforehand. Its not nice to ignore everyone in the pub, 'cos its a social thing to go down there in the first place.

Still, I'd rather go in a pub with a good atmosphere, I mght actually be changing my local soon to the other pub in our village, which means I'll be drinking in the sam pub as my mum (who goes to the gents - don't ask) but she can go in the other bar...
