A little much? You really expect people to read that much crap? If a message board is too full of rubbish, people will leave it rather than wade through it. What we need is a sensible balance, and some sensible users.

I draw your attention to the following:

If a message board is to be a success, it has to be full of things that many people find interesting, want to read or want to contribute to. It is not a substitute for normal human interaction, and is not a way for kids to send messages to one another when they are in class. If you have nothing of general interest to say, say nothing.

Personal insults, private conversations, and items that only mean something to a very small number of friends do not belong on chrismoyles.net.

The message board is not a chat room, we have a chat room for exactly that purpose. If you find yourself having a long conversation with one other person, it kind of defeats the point.

Someone needs to write a chat applet that doesn't rely on IRC and uses the HTTP port to communicate through. I'll look into it if I get time, but I'm sure I'm not up to the expertise of Mr Harris. Can't you come up with something Chris?

You could run an IRC server on port 80 without too much trouble.
