I don't understand why people schools should try and block hotmail? What's the harm in sending emails?

we were encouraged to set up email, it wasnt blocked by the IT teacher we had, but the one before that. he didnt like anyone going on the internet!

Trouble with Hotmail is it gets more spam than everyone else and it doesn't look good if schools are encouraging students to set up emails where you will be offered penis enlargements and such like...
