I've just returned from my first ever taster of live stand up. Generally i was quite amused by the acts, however there was a table full of hecklers which very much spoiled my enjoyment. Its sums up the reason why there is little forms of entertainment in Plymouth, because of complete * that live in this city. I and others missed out on the extremely good material which the three comedians had to offer because the jackasses in the front row felt there crude shite was funnier than the witty creative material of the pro's.

It's a bloody shame, these tossers just saw this as a prelude to thier night out to a cheesy shite club. Most of us went there as we're looking for alternative entertainment and our night was well and truely spoiled as a result of a bunch of pissed up twats.

i would have to take the view that hecklers are scum with only a few excemptions. firstly when the comedian in question is being offensive, by say making fun of particular people, particularly the weak. i remember seeing some acts on the telly where i would have probably heckled them, followed by a walk out.

I went with some people with work and it was * hilarious. If the comedian is good enough he will deal with the hecklers by making them look stupid.

what annoys me more are the thick as shit ones who insist on asking about 100 questions whens it's really quite easy to understand. or when the lecturer asks as questions and they just spout out random words that have already been mentioned in the lecture, always to be told their wrong, but every * week they persist.

frankly, people being sure of what they have learned rather than not would annoy me less. i would have more respect for someone who asks a million questions, annoying everyone else and subsequently doing well than someone who makes out like they know everything then fail.
