kids should be neither seen nor heard. the problem is the media have told everyone it's 'cool' to e agaist the war, so everyone is.

Yeah, but how much do you actually know about the war? Do you have any real reason to be against it?

of course people don't like opression, but they also don't like unsanctioned war. what's to stop the us and uk from going in and wreaking havoc in any country where they think "regieme change" is apt? maybe france'll be next.

why not? the french would probably surrender quickly enough.

there is a little thing called moral justification, and we don't need some dumb ass frenchies to agree to a war for us to have it.

I ahve proetested and i can say i did not do it to get out of school, i stayed long after school had finsihed and when a few people had gone home. I constantly read up on it, i probably know mor ethan most of you just dont test me.

i didn't protest here as idon't agree with the protestors. (don't get me started, but the organisers of the protests in my area are right wankers.) i also had my academic career at stake...

so is it reall over?

All the protesters here are either school kids or people who look like they belong in the 60s.

I feel everyone has the right to protest, but I just think it's wrong to do it now that things have started. We should be backing the troops, not fighting if its right or wrong, its not like Blair and Bush are going to stop it now. Plus its means police have to be there to make sure things don't get out of hand, just at the time we need all of them to stop possible attacks on the country.

Following the weekend I am even more opposed to the war now, owing to the amount of times the footy commentary was interrupted by this bloody war...

I agree with that sentiment Topher even if it seems that having that opinion makes you out to not care. I care deeply about the safety of our forces over there, but I don't want to watch it 24/7. If I did I'd tune into BBC News 24, not BBC 1. They've really mucked about with the TV scedules and a lot of stuff has been moved or cancelled due to war coverage.

I also think it's a joke how there's so much Iraqi resistance. If we're supposed to be liberating these people shouldn't they be welcomeing us with open arms?

I do care, on the one hand I was trying to make it a bit more light-hearted, but on the other it was a comment about exactly that - there are other important things going on - what about that Hannah Foster, she seems to have been forgotten.

Commercial TV is losing loads of money, everyone is pulling their ads as they don't want their prodducts to be seen next to bloody battlefields and war casualties.

So let the blood letting commence! We'll get there they will withdraw to the city then we wil have to move in to fight street for street. If you saw the civilians in Baghdad shooting into the water after enemy pilots they arent going to be greeting the "liberators". Looks like we are also going to level Bastra now after declaring it a military target - if you remember this was the supposedly freindly city.

Dont get me wrong here Saddam is evil but as i have metioned previously the pursuit of a few men is going to result in the deaths of many more. The propaganda we are being sold through the media is shocking i just dont see how we are going to take control of an arab country after bombing, shelling firing missiles at the people we are trying to save.

military objective, not a target. no-one ever said we were going to bomb the crap out of it. i think it's you that is blindly absorbing all the media crap.
