I was just wondering if anyone is intrested in sending a few packages to some of the guys currently in Operations in Iraq?

All you would need do is fill a shoe box or small box with things that you think would help them out.

Rectangular parcels: the longest side should be no more than 60 cm. The length plus the width plus the depth should total no more than 90 cm.

Cylinders, magazine rolls etc: the longest side shoudl be no more than 90 cm. The longest side plus twice the diameter should total no more than 104 cm.

Soaps, Shampoo, Sweets, Small Snacks, Letters, Photos, Magazines (FHM, Loaded etc), Anything really.

Im sure whatever you send, the troops out there will love.

I've got a list of a few people out there, mainly in the Gulf region. I'm not gonna post it up, but if you want to help, then pm or e-mail @ mailto:[email protected]

Why - is a good question. Your taxes do cover it, but its the extra things in life that keep the troops going. When i said magazines - i didnt mean to just refer to the "usual" mags that contain pictures of some bird from hollyoaks in knickers. a book for a example is a good thing to send out.

Soldiers all have to rest and have a break, and they are entitled to do what they like in their own time. As long as you don't send a mars bar or twix then it won't melt will it? you are welcome to send anything that doesnt contain something choc.

parcels do not cost 16 quid to send out to iraq or wherever! OP TELIC, where the majority of people are at the moment - a package up to the weight of 2kg would cost you - £6.89.

these would be going to people on the front line. generally they won't have computers that have floppy drives.

you gotta be careful when sending photos to countries like that. It would be an offence in Islamic countries if there were pictures of women without their socks on*

Its simple hoare - they arent going be wearing the shoeboxes on their feet, are they?. All I was simply asking was for you to fill a box, put some nice wrapping paper on it and send it. If you really don't have the money or time (clearly, you have time to eat a pot noddle) to fill a box, i'll write a letter and sign it love from jonny hoare. and then send it off to wherever. knowing you, you'll get some fit airwomen.

Well, im sure i could arrange a trip for you, mr hoare. how about you meet me at the local raf station tm morning and i'll get you to iraq. no need for a shoebox - i'll just get permission for you to do a placement out there for free.

There is enough weapons of mass slight destruction out there to kill a few small divisions, so another one won't really cause any problems for them. Rubbish boots - we've got some of the best boots in the world. Prove it.

Adam if thats much of a problem do it yourself. MY POINT IS that they have loved ones to send em that. My housemate and her meate both have blokes out in the gulf. They send them stuff, mags on cars and gadgets and over stuff.

I don't think they would give 2 hoots about some random people from a chris moyles tribute meessage board sending them stuff.

Also FACT: There have been problems sending parcels over there. radio Cornwall spent about 6 hours of broadcasting on i.
FACT: There has been stories in the press that the boots melt in desert conditions.
FACT: It costs £16 to send even the most basic package.

I'm backing the boys, I don't know whether this war is just and also i don't think it will change much. Go ye ahead if you think it will achieve anything
