BBC Radio 1 removed potentially contentious songs from its playlist when the war began.

These include Diamonds and Guns by the Transplants and Bandages by Hot Hot Heat.

Radio 1 producers have been asked to play music with a "light, melodic" feel before and after news bulletins, especially if they contain distressing news.

(So this probably means that Chris will be banned from talking light hearted banter with the newsreaders after the news. This also means that anything with guns, war, bandages, blood will not be played. In the long run though is the good news that Blazing (as in the towns blazing with bombs) Squad will be banned too, lets hope)

They haven't banned Bandages, just removed it from the A list so it isn't played so many times a day. Apparently.

i love the way radio one credits its listeners with so much intelligence [!] *. i mean banning songs which simply have very vague references to things that could possibly be war related in some obscure sense in just the title of the song is just pathetic.

bandages is amazant. ridiculously infectious. keep listening to the rest of the album. undecided on it. can see the strokes link, which i'm sure everyone will mention. the bloke who's singing sounds just a little too insane for my liking straight off, but certain songs are growing on me a lot...

Electric 6 have had to pull their single Gay Bar because they have a line about starting a nuclear war. Due out in 5th May, its now been shifted to the end of June. Having noticed that, that should mean Duran Duran The Reflex cant be played on Radio 2.

a fitting tribute would be the track on the jools holland current album, snowflake boogie, the highlght of that album.

"Yours truly confused N10" would have been better without the rhythm and blues orchestra i think.

It would sound very quiet with out the orchestra and then it wouldn't have such a nice effect but I can see what you mean if it was just more of the acoustic guitar
