Why?

There are many more deserving and needy pople in iraq who need our gifts and support, thats the iraqi children, who live in an uncertain time, they are probably gonna be killed when america drops bombs in the wrong place or if they test a new weapon on them. I am very suprised no one even mentioned thses people. This is part of a soldiers job, would you give a shoebox to a milkman for doing his job. Anyone who puts the importance of a soldier who is payed and fed and given medical attention over a war child is a very sad person indeed. Maybe if people sent of theseshoeboxes to the soldiers to pass along to needy children, wouldnt that be better.

point out the flaw here. you bomb iraq and then you give them aid.

most children in iraq probably won't be killed by bombs.

they don't 'test' bombs on live targets. all the new bombs being used have already been extensively tested. it may be the fist time some bombs are used in the field but that doesn't make it a test.

and i'm pretty sure a child in bagdad has little use for 'loaded' magazine, or a letter. the iraqis are already at home and have no use for the little things from home creature comforts etc.

these people are doing a very hard job and putting their lives on the line for the good of the world, there is nothing wrong with showing them a little support.

when did you ever hear about an american bomb that actually hit where it was supposed to hit?
By timb
#68131
about 99% of them do. they just launch so many of them. the iraqis aren't so keen to let you into their military facilities to see the damage of succesful hits now are they.

What a dumb idea to bomb iraq, but if your gonna bomb them, it is still better to give aid then not. DYS.

most children in iraq probably won't be killed by bombs.

Sanctions most likely

Whats more important, the health of a child or a mans supply of porn.

sanctions are being ended by this war, wouldn't want to point that out now would we?

everything possible to help any child that needs medical attention is being done. you think a small parcel with a bottle of aspirin and a mars bar would help?

hmmm truly significant questions are now being asked. just for any kindly souls out there who are influenced by this thread think before you do anything. Iraq is currently the focus of the worlds media and will be after the war has ended to check the us an uk dont just leave it to rot. Charities which love the attention will be in there like a shot (The "ohh them concentration camps are ok" Red Cross anyone?)

if you want to do something countries in africa are experiencing famine but because we arent bombing hell out of them they arent in peoples minds.

the expressions 'FACT' and 'stories in the press' are contradictory in every single way possible.

I don't think they would give 2 hoots about some random people from a chris moyles tribute meessage board sending them stuff.

Also FACT: There have been problems sending parcels over there. radio Cornwall spent about 6 hours of broadcasting on i.
FACT: There has been stories in the press that the boots melt in desert conditions.
FACT: It costs £16 to send even the most basic package.

I'm backing the boys, I don't know whether this war is just and also i don't think it will change much. Go ye ahead if you think it will achieve anything

i have done. i've sent a load of stuff recently to a squadron.

you made a good point hoare, BUT sometimes people don't have loved ones to sending anything out. you don't need to make it know that you are from a message board. these people have asked for random people to write something to them.

6 hours? has radio cornwall not got better stories to broadcast about? i mean, 6 hours is a little over the top...! just shows that there isnt much going on down there.

what have you been sending out? jesus. its 7 pound to send something that weighs 2kg.

root me a story out and then i'll comment on it.

It's not even that sometimes, my family went and sent out one that cost £4.50 to send today, just make it less than 2kg and it's ok. It's the thought that counts, the fact that someone out there cares just one little bit, and to get a presents always nice.
