I'm having a problem with my freeview at the moment.

Basically I want it connected via SCART lead and not UHF but when I connect it using the SCART lead there is very minimal brightness and colour etc but on normal TV the brightness and colour are fine. Also the picture isn't centred in the screen, it is quite a way to the left hand side of the screen.

Does anyone know how to fix this without having to change the TV settings (which I have done and it don't work)?

so could his TV or just the SCART cable. by trying a different TV and a different cable you should be able to figure out which

you sure the scart lead is connected properly... sometimes if not all the pins are touching - some of the colour doesn't get sent through making it look all wierd.

That's what I thought but they're all in there. I've tried two SCART cables and it has previously worked with a UHF cable I just wanted it solely running off SCART that's all.

I'll try it on a different TV soon.

Might be a dodgy scart socket in either TV or freeview box.

yeah my tv in my room has a dodgy scart socket so the freeview box is uhf and the dvd player just requires a lot of fiddling with before I can watch a DVD.

You had to go all technical didn't you!

It's ok I've done my testing and come out with the conclusion that it's the TV that I have the box connected to.

Which is weird 'coz my Playstation 2 works through that SCART socket on that TV

you can't get freeview? Even I can get it... in which case get Sky... I have sky aswell and although its a lot more expensive - it's worth it!
