Yes I do (more so than you I'm sure) and if the address on said letter was

Mr H Potter
The cuboard under the stairs
4 Private Drive
Little Whinging
Surrey

then I would agree that is weird but just to be H Potter no I don't think that is pertically weird.

Weird names I have come across at work.

Mr Richard Cheese (if you shorten Richard what do you get - for those of you that don't see it.)
Mr Urec Unt (yes really.)

Can't think of any more right now.

We have a Richard Toy when shorten proved to provide a good lot of humour for Tim in my media group.

Talking of which, did anybody else think that story in the Sun today was an absolute load of bollocks?

ha ha to Gaspode. I think, like me to a couple of days ago, a lot of people didn't know what Morals' real name was (I think It's Rich) so it was perfectly feasable his name Could Have been H. Potter so not that weird. Now you've explained it Ickle, I know what he's talking about.

But why would Morals recieve an application? Wouldn't he have to send the application first?

Anyway, nobody's commented on my above post. Can I take it nobody else reads the Sun?

For your benefit: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2003202221,00.html

Reeks of publicity stunt to me.

This bit especially made me laugh:
Our news team received a call yesterday offering us the first three chapters of the book for £25,000.

A shifty-sounding man told us: “I want the money in a suitcase and I will give you the first three chapters.”

The Sun turned down his offer — keeping alive the excitement of legions of youngsters across the globe.

oh how noble of them to turn it down. of course if they published it they would be sued for the largest sum of money ever, but i'm sure that has nothing to do with it

if anyone ever finds me reading the sun they have permission to shoot me

And why would they accept the offer when they already have the whole thing anyway?

I didn't apply for it, it was one of those junk mail things where they offer you a platinum card at a rediculously low interest rate... It was weird because no my name isn't H Potter, and I have no idea why I'd receive a letter addressed as such.
