Yeh good idea, Bigger table for the plates, and bigger rooms for the bigger tables aswell, bigger houses maybe. Bit easier to have them seperate.

But if you have it all together it will take so long to eat that half of it would be cold by time you came to eating it. Having a plate of Yorkshire Puddings first while the rest of the meal finishes cooking solves that, and means you can still use normal dinner plates.
