i have some pictures that are .art files and i need to change them to jpg
how do i do this ?

if you had paint shop pro it would be very simple.
or send me the pics and ill convert them for you and send them back.

So can't you just open them in that, then go to um, Save As is it? And select .jpg in the pull down box at the bottom, and save them.

You can save stuff as jpegs in paint as well can't you, either opening them in paint or copying and pasting or pasting a screenshot into paint?

What can you open art files in?

From the AOL program, do a local FILE, OPEN. Along with the more common file types (GIF, JPG, TIF, etc) will be .ART. Select your file and open it.

Then do a FILE, SAVE AS and resave it in the file type of your choice.

Or if you haven't got AOL, download the plugin for IE which will allow you to open it and save it as a bitmap.
