Commenting on their new show, Colin Murray said: "I'm really chuffed that Radio 1 has given Edith and I this vote of confidence so early in our partnership. Myself and hollow legs Bowman are looking forward to working as part of a dedicated weekend team."
Spoony added: "I can’t wait to get stuck into the new shows. I am gonna blow the opposition out of the water, trust me."
Andy Parfitt, Controller Radio 1, said: "These new weekend shows are going to be fantastic. Colin, Edith and Spoony are all hugely popular with our listeners so extending their shows across the weekend was the right decision to make. Weekends on Radio 1 are going to be hard to beat."
In addition to these changes there will also be some exciting new hosts of Backstage announced in the coming weeks. These new signings will be the final piece in the jigsaw of a new look weekend line up that will have something for all young fans of new music everywhere.
