ok afi are an amazing band and they certainly dont suck live. as for them selling out i dont really agree with that either. I agree that they have changed their sound on the recent album but they have changed after every album they've released, and its for the better in my opinion.

"What would you say to people who have labeled you ‘sell outs’ for signing to a bigger label? "
Davey: (Laughs) Just laugh!
Adam: I think after twelve years you obtain the right to do what you want.
Davey: It’s just ludicrous. Anyone who would say that is just a moron. We always do exactly what we want and that will never change and we’ve just made our best record! Anyone who would say that is really of a low intellect and I’m not interested in any of their opinions.

The thing i like about afi is that their sound is so unique, they dont really fit into just one specific genre. AFI is one of a kind. If they were selling out they would be like everything else and sound like everyone else.

That will be all

when somebody with such (fanatical) devotion to a band tries to argue that said band did not "sell out" or defend any of the imagined honour of any given band, it is cause to laugh and ridicule. i've been through this with green day. i've been through this with the donnas, and now it's afi. seriously kid, it doesn't mean squat. their actions say enough and if you're part of the "despair faction" it wouldn't be suprising. next thing you'll do is complain about people saying rancid just sold out too.

next please.

He's a tad passionate about AFI is our Rob, he's right though they are great but I'll let you have your opinions! Just because you are in a band doesn't mean you are always right about music though!

stephen, i'm not using my experience in bands in this argument. i'm using my experience as a resident of the northern california where all said bands come from. i'm telling you, i saw this happen in 94 with green day, and it's happening again. it's always disenfanchising when you see a band you once paid $5 dollars to see on the cover of rolling stone and selling shoes. that's all i'm saying.

Good to know, thanks!
