About 10 minutes ago I was nicely browsing this site when the wierdest thing happened. A little box poped up asking me about a loan, now the thing is that I use that program to send messges on my network but mine is the only system to be on at the moment, I then stuck the firewall on. What could have caused this? BT trying to sell my IP address to other companies.

How scary. Bt wont be selling your ip, sites can send messages to random ips. I always use to get 'em cos i used it to send messages across my network. It's not exactly the end of the world is it.

just go in to services and turn messenger off, if you run the network you wont need to receive network messages anyway.

Right I did that but they still pop up, Who is it that is sending me these things? I got one today asking me to call a 0900 number that costs £1.50 a minute to stop them.

Ooooh, that's naughty. Phone us to stop us and we'll charge you for the priveledge? That has to be illiegal, it's certainly immoral
