Emmet - Liquidification Tour

Hello all, I hope nobody minds me giving my electronic band Emmet (i.e. the three peeps behind Moped) a little plug as we're kicking off a mini-tour tonight.

If you live in the North West and not a million miles from the following pubs/venues hop down and say hello;

Thurs 3rd July - The Tavern, Wigan
Sat 5th July - The Raven, St Helens
Sun 6th July - The Cavern, Liverpool
Thurs 10th July - Breeze Bar, St Helens
Sat 19th July - Disfunktional @ The Citadel, St Helens
Sat 26th July - St Helens Show, Sherdley Park, St Helens
Thurs 31st July - Warpchord @ Zanzibar, Liverpool

Disfunktional at The Citadel, St Helens is going to be the biggy as it will feature an appearance from Moped themselves possibly debuting a new Moped track and possibly with the first ever outing for Moped's sexy dancers (we felt thats what we were missing!) The Lambrettas!

That was quite funny, it's probably why MK got the gig, 'cos Eminem was told it was London.

The Taven used to be called Steps (as far as I can remember?) and its on the street that runs parallel with the street that has KFC and McDonalds on it in Wigan town centre.

The gig was a bit iffy, a few technical probs, but then with the amount of geat with have on stage these things can rear their ugly head now and again.

As for remixes, the stuff I do with Emmet is all original dance stuff http://stage.vitaminic.co.uk/emmet download Opinicus and Felicity Bangg and see where we're coming from.

As for the wonderful world of Diffusion/Moped well I'm finishing my lecturing duties in a week or so, so there is likely to be more comedy on the way soon I suspect. :D

I'll defo take you up on that, punters were a bit thin on the ground on Thursday nite (which wasn't such a bad thing as we had a few technical problems). I think the fact that they were charging £3 for a Thursday night was a bit much for most people too.

Oh I agree with you £3 is a rip off on the cash front becuase a) its a pub and b) its a Thursday night however that gig was all part of the Wigan Musicians Collective so we had nowt to do with the charging.

On the other hand we're charging £3.50 for our night at The Citadel, St Helens but a) its now a top knotch venue with a 5K sound rig b) its a Saturday night and we have to pay for bar staff, security staff, sound engineer, monitor engineer, lighting engineer/visuals (these people dont work for nowt you know) and most importantly c) Moped will be there, well worth £3.50 of anyones cash for entertainment like that if you ask me.

Narrrgh, Moped has always been a bit of fun and a way of making lots of good contacts and a bit of publicity to boot (we're currently doing an interview for a German techno magazine. The thing about the music biz is that its very much a closed shop, its not what you know its who you know. Thanks to all my larks with Diffusion and Moped I've now got loads of contacts, mostly within the world of radio which I'll be hopefully able to exploit later on as Emmet takes off. Well, thats the idea anyway.

Just a quick note to say that the gig was absolutely storming, the best we've ever done. Here is the one hour set condensed into about three minutes if you're interested in what it sounded like;

Errr, thats the whole point of highlights, the best bits. I'm afraid I haven't got time to upload a 60 minute set on a 56k modem thank you very much.
