Dinosaurs were hatched from eggs, so unless Chickens came before Dinosaurs (the ones they serve up in KFC on a Friday night not withstanding) I'd say the egg came first.

Yeah there used to be herds of eggs rolling around the earth quite happily.
Then someone built a wall and they started falling off and couldn't be put back together again. The one's that survued, did so by becoming dinos and dhickens. Simple survival of the too bored to continue typing this post.
