Having the BBC iPlayer on my iPhone. It means that while I'm waiting for my train I can watch the latest Ashes to Ashes. And the volume control goes up to 11!

Thanks to this little nugget of information, I've been able to put together a script that enabled me to download shows off of the BBC iPlayer on my Linux box (and without DRM too).

It stands for Digital Rights Management, although what it actually is is Digital Restrictions Management. A file with DRM is encrypted so only certain software can play it, and that software will dictate how, where, when and how often you can play the file.
