When you're a parent lots of sayings and mottos pop up, some may have been inherited.
When I was younger I liked playing tricks on people, but didn't like it in return.
Soon learnt not to go crying to my Dad though, he would just say "If you can't take it, don't give it"
Now I find myself using the same line.

Hahaha, yep.... And if my kids are in trouble they get their full name, rather than John it would be Johnathon! (although My kids aren't called John or Johnathon!)

Ahh i think thats quite common. When you got told off in our house you got full name including middle name shouted at you.
