Depends what position you're applying for. If you want to be a shop assistant, then delegation isn't something you'll need. If you want to be a shop floor supervisor, then you will need to be able to delegate.

If you delegate a task you still have to continually make sure that it gets done, although it's not as hard as doing the jobs in the first place, it gets really tiresome after a while, that is the Art of management, predicting what little twat who has been doing a job for years and years suddenly forgets that they do that job, and when challenged, say they have never heard of that task or have any capability, or even more * annoyingly, time to do what they had been doing so well for so long before.
