You have a point there. The tories had the right idea a couple of months back about there being too much choice at university. If they got rid of all the funding for pointless degrees then there'd be more funding for the other ones.

yeah but you'd probably get a job straight away if you got that 1st from somewhere like bristol, durham or nottingham. actually maybe not. post degree is hard - u just gotta make the effort. years away - thank god

DeMontfort. I know there are some jobs that only wan't applicants from top 'red brick' universities or some even only want oxbridge, but those jobs all require about 5 As at A-Level or something similar, or at least an A at ALevel Maths. When all I have is the UCAS points equiv of AAC. I could of gone to some of the 'older' universities, like plymouth, exeter, bristol or some others, but their courses didn't sound like much fun, with way too much 'business studies' in it. So I chose a technical course at what seemed to be a nice place.

I've just been asked for an interview with a company in Berkshire that I applied to so things are looking up
