The phone booth is on the edge of a cliff and whilst the fisherman is in it a car ploughs into it sending it flying off the cliff (a la Waking Ned).

yes its absolutely ridiculous

the fisherman was on the phone telling someone "the fish is THIS big" and moved his hands to show how long it was forcing his hands through the glass in the phone box and slitting his wrists and he died of blood loss.
