not all americans do. and the tivo makes it so you don't have to watch crap al day, just stuff you like. like golden girls.

I got the impression that in America only people who's lives revolved around TV would buy TIVO. I guess this may have changed now, with the price falling.

yeah. my boyfriend's parents don't watch much tv but still got a tivo. it's nice if you like shows that are on later than you care to stay up, or if you lead an active life and can't be home to watch every episode of golden girls.

looks quite good actually, but i take it you can only record the channels you already have?? i mean you dont get any extra channels from the actual box?? thats the good thing bout sky+, you pay for the ability to record and store the channels and you get all the sky channels in one package.

is the TiVo reliable then? does it ever forget to record, or record the wrong station etc??

i think i paid £200 for the box and got free installation because i kept my original subscription and had my standard digibox re-located in my house.

i didnt know it was free for a year, i thought you started paying the extra £10 straight away??

The Extra £10 a month you're paying now is for the fact you now have 2 Sky Subscriptions.
Sky+ costing the price of your package

my boyfriend's brother loves his tivo, and it's pretty reliable on the recording. one interesting thing about it though is that he has ended up watching less tv over all. he doesn't always watch what he recorded because it looks boring after the fact. i like my fake one.
