A recent episode (one to two weeks ago) of Being Human had a remark that someone's last girlfriend looked like Chris Moyles.

Good lord, really? Caught the first two episodes and thought it was dreadful. A review said of episode two "The acting continues to be all over the place with Kreuk demonstrating “Joey Tribbiani smelling-a-fart school of acting” levels of frowning.". Which made me laugh.

I completely accept all of that. I never said it was good, but as lightweight escapist nonsense I am enjoying it. I'm also enjoying - in a very different way - The Following. Which is good. Very good. And scares me to death which would normally mean I wouldn't watch, but I simply can't stop.

I have tried and failed to like Peep Show. I love David Mitchell, Robert Webb doesn't really do it for me. Peep Show is fairly funny in places, but not brilliant.

Oh I quite liked what I've seen of the following but even though I've recorded it, I've not watched it all though, I'm a bit "criminal profiling"-ed out at the moment.

However, Walking Dead's back on. Woo, yay, etc.

I've also been watching The Following. I think its pretty good as well. Although I'm starting to wonder exactly how long they can keep this particular storyline going? So the Joe Carroll character has this group of followers doing his dirty work for him. But at some point, they're going to have done all that he wanted them to do. So then what happens next? It'll be interesting to see exactly how this proceeds. It's doing well in the ratings here in The States, so I don't see it threatened with cancellation after it's 1st season if finished.

I'm really loving Ricky Gervais' new Show called Derek. It's a really funny show but also sweet and dramatic at the same time. Ricky's character Derek is really sweet and Ricky's acting is amazing, he is completely different as Derek and I forget that it's actually Ricky playing him. Karl Pilkington's Character Dougie steals most of the spotlight though and is basically playing himself and his wig in the show is brilliant. I loved The Office and Extras but Derek is definitely in my opinion the best thing Ricky's ever done. If you've not seen it yet it's on channel 4 every Wednesday at 10pm. I really recommend it.

I saw the original episode that he did, it seemed like an uncomfortable 'in your face' to the criticism he received for mocking the mentally ill, to be used as evidence that 'he likes them really'.

I'm sure I read somewhere that his parents were care workers and so a lot of the show is based on what his parents experienced and the respect he has for them. I haven't watched it though to find out what it's like, just didn't really draw me in with the ads.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Ricky said that in an interview. Give it a chance. Who knows you might end up liking it.

I was watching online old episodes of the sketch show Tramadol Nights. It is Frnakie Boyle's show and he does some stand up but the sketch shows includes Robert Florence from the Scottish Burnistoun sketch show. Frankie goes over the edge sometimes with his comedy but all in all I enjoy Tramadol Nights.

Yep. Jimmy Carr specialises more in casual misogyny and fat-shaming, but he throws a bit of homophobia in there occasionally for good measure.

I think that Jimmy Carr tends to do it in a less cruel way, and while he eludes to poking fun at size, gender & disability issues - he rarely says anything overtly grotesque.

Frankie Boyle just tries to be as offensive as possible, with little comic skill.

I'm probably twisted then that I find some of Frankie's material funny. I enjoy the sketches on Tramadol Nights. I watch 8 Out of 10 Cats and Sean Lock is amazing in that, he is random and comes up with the wildest things. He was very funny a few shows back when talking about the horse meat problems. Some of the comedians on the panel gave it to Jimmy Carr over his tax (or lack of) tax news.

I love Rhod Gilbert's podcasts also, they are brilliant. I'm exactly the same with Russell Howard's Good News I really laugh out loud watching that show. It's one of the funniest shows on TV.
