My personal highlight would have to be on the first day of the live streaming.
Dave started to read out messages from listeners/veiwers from around the world, prompting Chris to remind him about the off air chat before the show specifically saying not to mention foreign listeners.

Also pomme de tits was a classic but i'm not sure weather that was Dave or Dom

Yep was just about to mention the same gaffe on the first link of the first show of a new year...before hitting play just think about the fake callers paranoia and the push for truthiness in the BBC Priceless!

Can't find the Big Weekend nor the Snowdon gaffes in the Sound Vault. Don't even know what year it was.

Before I started doing the Tedious I didn't pay attention to just how many mistakes he makes in the links. Loads of them never get mentioned on air, probably cos they're not very interesting! I recall one day picking out about six errors and none of them were mentioned. Anything religious, geographical, historical or scientific is a particular problem for Dave. I don't think he does much fact-checking in advance.

One that I have noticed a few times is that he'll include a french word like Déjà vu or duck a l'orange in the link and say ".....is the same in english as it is in french".

It isn't, it's just a french word!!

Oh my GOD, at least I'm not the only one that notices that! Every time he does it I put it in the 'flaws' section of my transcription, but it never gets mentioned on air. I seem to recall that 'baguette' is another of his favourite examples.

I really don't think he does! To me, it's obviously for comic effect. He's not Aled, therefore is not lacking in most areas of general knowledge.

Well, we'll never know! I'm pretty sure his historical and scientific mistakes are genuine tho. Thankfully there haven't been many glaring errors in quite a while now. I always have to do my research cos I don't think my general knowledge is that broad either - I'm forever looking up stuff like "is it possible to ride a zebra" (yes, that is a genuine example.)

I'm just editing some Tedious Link archive stuff now and I found another gem - Dave claimed in a link in September 2006 that George Benson was dead, when he definitely wasn't (turned out Dave had him confused with Luther Vandross).
