The advert is in the top right of the screen, out the way - you don't even notice it. I admit though, I use Opera because I am, as so you correctly point out (based on irefutable evidence I'm sure), scum. Shame on me.

As for Opera, the advert is not huge, it's smaller than the biggest sigs on this board. If you're happy using a bloated, slow browser to surf with, then use mozilla. Anyone who wants a fast, pleasant surfing experience, use Opera. Or get a Mac and install Safari.

i've just run a test on opera 7.11 and Mozilla 1.4Beta and mozilla renderred every site at exactly the same speed as opera. i also found that opera failed to render some pages correctly. also during the image loading process opera did not correctly lay out the page until all the images were loaded correctly, causing shifts during the load, which are annoying. i could also find no options to prompt me to allow or reject a cookie when it is requested. i was glad to see they have added the password remember feature but it does still have gastly long and irregular menus.

and if you don't want me to talk to ickle may i suggest that you tell her to either not talk to me ever again or perhaps you should go live in a cave away from the big nasty world that incudes me with my extremely disturbing posting of words.

it can't be done via CGI, cgi just generates HTML. javascript is how they would of done it. IE lets javascript do loads of things with your preferences. however , if you used a decent browser like http://www.mozilla.org you wouldn't have had this problem in the first place.
